{{play 0:13 to 0:17 in the background}} On December 5, 2022, Wauwatosa Police officers received a report on a man who had fallen asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle. Unfortunately, the Mayfair Mall would become center stage for this arrest.

{{Play 0:17 to 1:44 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Mr. Taylor? Are you Mr. Taylor?}}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: Mr. Taylor, hold on one second (unclear)}}

{{Hold on one second. Please stop}}

{{The reason I’m talking right now is}}

{{We had a call that someone was falling asleep in the car when we were up}}

{{Lexus? Were you driving a maroon Lexus, today?}}

{{Taylor: That’s not me, bro}}

{{Officer: What’s that?}}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: That’s not you? You weren’t driving a maroon Lexus, today?}}

{{Taylor: Yeah}}

{{Officer: Is your last name Taylor?}}

{{Taylor: No, I don’t want to…}}

{{Officer: Hold on one second. Hold on one second}}

{{Taylor: Yeah, yeah. You are Mr. Taylor, yes or no?}}

{{Taylor: what’s…}}

{{Officer: Is your last name Taylor?}}

{{Taylor: Unclear}}

{{Officer: Well, that’s what I’m asking. The reason I’m having contact with you}}

{{Is because someone called and said that a subject matching your description}}

{{Driving the vehicle that is registered in your name was asleep at the wheel}}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: No? So how’d you get to the mall today?}}

{{Taylor: I drove}}

{{Officer: You drove?}}

{{Taylor: Yeah}}

{{Officer: What kind of car did you drive?}}

{{Taylor: Do I need to leave or?}}

{{Officer: But no, we’re just, we’re having a conversation}}

{{Taylor: Oh, no}}

{{Officer: We’re just having a conversation right now}}

{{I just want to make sure that you’re okay}}

{{Taylor: Where did that come from?}}

{{Officer: Where did what come from?}}

{{Taylor: The information}}

{{Officer: Uh, someone that was on the road}}

{{Either near you or next to you saw you}}

{{So that’s why I’m having this conversation}}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: I want to make sure that your ability to operate a motor vehicle is 100 percent}}

{{Taylor: No. I got a ride}}

{{Officer: You got a ride?}}

{{Taylor: Yeah}}

{{Officer: Where’s your ride at?}}

{{Taylor: Uh, called them}}

{{Officer: You called them already? Are they picking you up?}}

{{Taylor: No, I’m gonna call them right now.

{{Officer: Have you been drinking today or…? }}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: No}}

{{play 1:36 to 1:44  with rising intense music in the background}} It was at this point this officer knew something was particularly wrong with Mr. Taylor. From his answer, it was clear he was up to no good and what the officer would discover next was shocking. He wasn’t just sleeping while driving, he was intoxicated and carrying a concealed weapon

{{play 1:44 to 3:47 with the subtitle below – circle the second officer’s hand as he raises it}}

{{Officer: Do you have anything on you right now?}}

{{Taylor: What do you mean}}

{{Officer: Any firearm or something}}

{{Taylor: I got food}}

{{Officer: Hold on. Just hold on. I’m gonna do it. I don’t really know. Just hold on}}

{{Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, just one second. Just one second. No, it’s there. Wow}}

{{Put your hands in the back, yeah. Put your hands in the back}}

{{One, you’re not supposed to have a firearm on you while you’re in the mall}}

{{Taylor: Okay}}

{{Officer 2: You smell of alcohol}}

{{Taylor: I just took a beverage}}

{{Officer 1: You smell of intoxicating beverage}}

{{Oh, OK. Mr. Taylor, do you have a valid CCW permit?}}

{{What that means is, are you licensed to carry a firearm in the state of Wisconsin?}}

{{Taylor: I got everything that… I just want to know what… what did I do wrong?}}

{{Officer 1: Well, I explained to you I just…}}

{{Taylor: No, what… where did you get my name and everything?}}

{{Officer: Yeah, so okay, okay (chatter) You can finish this up}}

{{I just wanna take this off}}

{{Taylor: How do you pick me out of everybody}}

{{Officer: You don’t have anything I should know of, Mr Taylor?}}

{{Taylor: I don’t know where I came from}}

{{Or where my name came from, or anything especially}}

{{Matter of fact, I don’t know how my name came up}}

{{play 3:44 to 3:49 with rising intense music in the subtitle below}} At this point, it began to dawn on the officers that they were in for a long day as Taylor continued to evade the truth even with the evidence against him.

{{play 3:49 to 5:17 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Darles, Alexis, (unclear) can you check to see if this is a valid CCW permit holder}}

{{Taylor: I don’t know where my name came from. I (unclear) a gift}}

{{Officer: Last name should be Taylor. I believe the first name is Marvel}}

{{Taylor: I don’t even know where this came from}}

{{ I just… I was just sitting there eating}}

{{Officer: Yeah}}

{{Taylor:  got something to eat and um…}}

{{Officer: What’d you get? Anything good? What’d you get? Anything good?}}

{{Taylor: What is you talking about?}}

{{Officer: You said you got something to eat. What’d you get?}}

{{Taylor: Chinese food, it’s right here}}

{{Officer: Oh, okay}}

{{Taylor: I don’t know how you got my last name}}

{{Officer: Right. Do you have a driver’s license here?}}

{{Taylor: Yeah, everything right here}}

{{Officer: So who’s got the closest car? I got one on the far north. Macy’s Lot (unclear)}}

{{Taylor: I don’t even know where this is going to come from}}

{{I haven’t bothered anybody. I was walking by myself}}

{{And I was wanting something to eat. I got something to eat}}

{{Where did my name come from?}}

{{Taylor: Mr Taylor, I explained everything to you}}

{{And once we get back to the station, we’ll talk about everything else, alright, sir?}}

{{play 6:07 to 6:20 with rising intense music in the background}} While this might seem like the end of the arrest, the officer would be stunned when Mr. Taylor continued to insist on his innocence and questioned why he was picked out of everyone in the mall.

{{play 6:24 to 7:38 with the subtitle below}}

{{Taylor: No, where’s, where’s this coming from?}}

{{Officer: So as I explained earlier, the reason we had contact with you}}

{{Someone called and said they were concerned about your well-being}}

{{Because you were passed out or asleep behind the wheel while operating in your vehicle}}

{{Taylor: No, no}}

{{Officer: So that’s where we’re coming here to find out}}

{{you know, because then we located a vehicle that’s registered in your name}}

{{And  then as I’m looking through the vehicle from the outside}}

{{I see what appears to be an open bottle of alcohol sitting on the passenger seat}}

{{Taylor: No}}

{{Officer: So that’s our rule of contact}}

{{Taylor: No, I don’t know where that came from}}

{{Officer: Okay. We’ll give you a chance to explain all of everything, so…}}

{{Taylor: Okay, alright. I don’t know…}}

{{Wow, wow, like I said, I was just eating some food and walking around}}

{{I don’t know where this came from. I don’t know. I’m not going to say anything}}

{{Taylor: Who called them in?}}

{{Officer: A citizen, a concerned citizen called. They didn’t give us your name}}

{{they just gave us a description of the car and…}}

{{Taylor: I don’t know anything about that}}

Officer: Okay. That’s how we had this conversation}}

{{play 9:12 to 9:25 with rising intense music in the background}} Seeing that this game could go on for a much longer time, the officers decided to make it clear while they were arresting Mr. Taylor. Unsurprisingly, this didn’t stop him from droning on. Unfortunately, he was going to have to spend at least the rest of the day in prison.

{{play 11:13 to 12:17 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Well, as I explained to you earlier, the reason we’re having this contact}}

{{Is from a concerned citizen that was worried about your well -being}}

{{Taylor: because I haven’t… I haven’t been anywhere}}

{{Officer: And those are the details sir once we’re gonna get}}

{{Or we’ll dive into a little more once we get back to the station, so…}}

{{But right now you are in custody, sir}}

{{Taylor: Okay}}

{{Officer: and what that means is you are under arrest}}

{{Taylor: How did you pick me out of any lineup?}}

{{Officer: So I was explained to you earlier, sir}}

{{It was because a concerned citizen called and was worried about your well -being}}

{{So that’s why}}

{{Taylor: That’s what I want to know…Like how am I picked out of any lineup}}

{{Officer: So it wasn’t a line-up, so it was just someone concerned}}

{{It was just… It was just a citizen… That’s kind of how they describe your vehicle}}

{{we located your vehicle}}

{{Taylor: Who described my vehicle?}}

{{Officer: that will be all the information, sir.  That’s  in the reports itself}}

{{Taylor: Okay, alright}}

{{play 15:28 to 15:38  with rising intense music in the background}} Mr Taylor was eventually arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. While Mr Taylor may have calmly ruffled the police, our next case involves a more dramatic standoff between the cops, and guess who? {{insert dramatic sound}} A feisty mall cop! Let’s dive right in

{{Play 18:17 to 18:23 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Have a seat}}

{{Woman: No, let me see my dog}}

{{Officer: Have a seat}}

{{Woman: Hold the fuck on, dude! Hold the fuck on!}}

{{Use intense rising music throughout this VO text}}

{{play 0:53 to 1:00 in the background}} On March 28, 2022, officers from Palm Beach Gardens Police Department arrived to investigate the report of a Gray Kia Soul rear-ending a white BMW.  The offending driver? A feisty mall cop who tried to resist arrest, creating one of the most dramatic public scenes ever witnessed!

{{play 1:00 to 2:40 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: What’s going on?}}

{{Woman: Uh, I hit this guy}}

{{Officer: Okay}}

{{Woman: And we were in traffic. It was like 20 minutes ago}}

{{Officer: Okay, where did it happen? Right here?}}

{{Woman: Yeah, back there. Okay like…}}

{{Officer: Are you okay?}}

{{Woman: Yeah. I’m fine. I’m just freaking out it. It’s my daddy’s birthday}}

{{I’m just going home. You guys like over the guys… look over there}}

{{Officer: Okay, so what I’m gonna have you do is}}

{{There’s an officer that’s coming up behind you}}

{{I’m gonna get us off the road so we’re not stopping all this traffic}}

{{Are you okay to drive?}}

{{Woman: Yeah}}

{{Officer: You sure?}}

{{Woman: No}}

{{Officer: Why?}}

{{Woman: You can drive}}

{{Officer: I’m not gonna drive}}

{{Woman: I don’t like this. My baby girl is waiting on me}}

{{Officer: Were you in the car by yourself?}}

{{Woman: Yep}}

{{Officer: Okay. You’re sure you’re okay?}}

{{Woman: Is it the fuck… Is it the fire truck waiting for us?}}

{{Officer: No, it’s another police car that I just told you was coming}}

{{Woman: I work for mall security}}

{{ Officer: Okay. You sure you’re okay?}}

{{ Woman: Yeah, I’m fine (unclear)}}

{{Officer: So were you before or after this street right here}}

{{where those two cars are coming out?}}

{{Were you on this side of it or were you before it?}}

{{Woman: What the fuck? I was on here}}

{{Officer: I know. I understand that. But where were you as far as…}}

{{Woman: You see where that car’s at right now that it stopped? Probably right there}}

{{Officer: Which one?}}

{{Woman: That, okay, this lane right here, that’s the one}}

{{Officer: The Kia that is?}}

{{Woman: Yeah, yeah… Yeah right there}}

The officers from Palm Beach Garden soon determined that the accident took place just outside their operational jurisdiction, so the two officers secured the scene for deputies from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.  But that was not, the officers noticed something was up with the offending driver that needed investigating.

{{Play 3:13 to 4:04 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Is your car drivable?}}

{{Woman: Yes it is. It hit like a…}}

{{Officer: Okay, so is the other car in here?}}

{{Woman: Yeah, he…}}

{{Officer: Well, we’re gonna try… and probably have you go in there if possible}}

{{Officer: Where’s the damage}}

{{Woman: It’s at the front… he said he has a white beamer so I’m sure you can}}

{{So I’m sure you can probably see it on his car while you can’t see it on my car}}

{{Officer 2: Hey, something’s off}}

{{Officer 1: Yeah}}

{{Officer 2: She looks (unclear)}}

{{Officer 1: Let me go get the other guy in real quick}}

One of the officers had to go and speak with the other driver involved in the accident, where he discovered the woman purposely hit his vehicle and the police knew they knew they had to take her in. They didn’t know that things were about to get far, far more revealing and quite literally too!

{{play 5:06 to 5:32 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer: Okay. So what exactly happened?}}

{{Man: So the first time, she hit me}}

{{Officer: Uh uh}}

{{Man: But it’s a lie. Okay, I take my car, and I let her go}}

{{because of the traffic, so she still follows me, behind me, and the second time}}

{{The second is the big problem with my cars}}

{{Officer 1: Time for it}}

{{Officer 2: What time do you get off work?}}

{{Woman: By three}}

{{Officer 1: So that, it’s going to be PBSO’s jurisdiction}}

{{ The sheriff’s office, so they’re coming, they are on their way here}}

{{Man: Okay}}

{{Officer: they will do the report}}

{{Man: Okay}}

{{Officer: Okay? So just wait here and we’ll have them come over here to talk to you, alright?}}

{{Man: Okay!}}

{{Officer: Alright, thank you}}

{{Officer 2: How long have you been working at the mall?}}

{{Woman: About two to three years}}

{{(chatter)}}

{{Officer: All right, well, unfortunately, you know}}

{{I understand that you’re not in the greatest of moods}}

{{But we have to wait for the sheriff’s office to get here before we proceed, okay?}}

{{And depending on their response time, I don’t know when that will be}}

{{so, but, we’re going to hang out with you until they get there}}

{{cut 10:00 to 11:39 with the subtitle below}}

{{Officer 1: I need you to stay over here please, thank you}}

{{officer: Come over there. I’m not playing around with you}}

{{Come here over. You don’t like to listen}}

{{Woman: Come on, just relax…you have no…}}

{{Officer: Sit down. Why don’t you listen?}}

{{Woman: You have no reason to be afraid of}}

{{Officer: You’re somebody that works with us and you want to be difficult.}}

{{Sit down. Sit Down}}

{{play 13:05 to 13:14 with rising intense music in the background}} The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office soon notified the Palm Beach Gardens officers that they had no trained officials to come conduct a field sobriety investigation on the woman and were therefore uninterested in pursuing the matter further. But the driver would soon escalate the situation on her own. This got even worse when the police placed the woman in handcuffs to be taken into custody.

{{play 13:15 to 13:46 with the subtitle below}}

{{Woman: I don’t care who you know, bro}}

{{You don’t got to be a fucking goddamn dick}}

{{it would go a lot easier. Yeah}}

{{Woman: Difficult? Oh my God… suck my nuts}}

{{I know this guy, this guy is cool. You on the other hand…}}

{{Officer: Your training means nothing to me}}

{{Woman: God bless you, amen}}

{{Cut to 15:00 to 15:16 cut to15:30 to  17:19 with the subtitle below}}

{{Woman: I wanna know your past. I’ll find out (Mumbles)}}

{{Officer: I don’t get what you mean}}

{{Woman: I hope that he backs you up as much as you back him up}}

{{Officer: He does}}

{{Woman: Good, that’s all that matters. He could be a piece of shit}}

{{and you cannot be a piece of shit. And you can sit back…}}

{{Officer: He’s really not though}}

{{Woman: Well, maybe…}}

{{Officer: Stay sitting down, please. Just sit down}}

{{I’m standing here and you’re just not listening to what I am telling you to do}}

{{I AM relaxed. You need to relax}}

{{Woman: You need to relax, you need to fucking relax!}}

{{Officer: Sit down! Stand over here or sit down. That’s it. You stop. Stay by you}}

{{It’s so hard to write a good damn traffic report. Or to tame. Okay?}}

{{That is why you are sitting there}}

{{Woman: What are you going to do? Buddy, come on. Go ahead}}

{{Officer: You are making this a bigger deal than it needs to be}}

{{I’m giving you every ample opportunity to stop}}

{{Woman: I feel so bad for you buddy}}

{{Officer: Right now you’re not under arrest}}

{{Woman: May the Lord be with you}}

{{Officer: And also with you}}

{{Play 17:51 to 18:06 with rising intense music in the background}} It was at this point things quickly went from zero to a hundred, as the police would soon realize they were dealing with one very entitled Karen who didn’t want to face the consequences of her actions.
